April 20, 2013
California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson, CA
An exciting conference about STEM in today's educational environment will be hosted by various National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Education-sponsored teacher training programs at CSU Dominguez Hills. We hope to inspire a conversation about invigorating mathematics and science education throughout Los Angeles and its surrounding communities, and communities across the state, and energize educators to want to offer richer educational experiences to their students at all levels.
The day-long conference will comprise of an inspiring keynote address by Kenneth Wesson and multiple breakout sessions that will cover various topics, including presentations on the common core state standards and next generation science standards, effective teaching strategies used by expert teachers, integration of technology and multimedia into classrooms, and discussions of valuable resources for our conference attendees.
We invite educators of various backgrounds to participate in this conference, including current and future teachers, K-12 administrators, teaching experts, teacher education faculty, and educational advocates. The conference will be cost free, but registration will be required.
